Growing up I watched my Mom work through the process of teaching herself how to quilt. She also did needlework, cross stitch and latch hook. I remember helping her separate the yarn and thread by colors. Her artistic influence on me has been profound, especially in shaping the intensity with which I share art with my own kids today. I have tried to honor her by incorporating textiles within some of my art as well as including her in many of my projects.
